Why is writing website copy different from writing for print?
FAQs
Writing text for a website is not the same as writing for other marketing media such as brochures and magazine adverts. Reading on screen is more difficult than from the page. Visitors read websites differently by scanning the page for specific words. They will rarely read all the text or scroll to the bottom of the page. This means that a writer needs different skills to produce web content.

Judith, thank you so much for all the hard work you put into optimising my website.  I am really pleased with the results. It flows so much better and the layout is visually more appealing as well as being more informative and to the point. Thanks again - I will be recommending The Elementary Web Shop to fellow website builders.
